Peace Lily. Evergreen perennial plants with creeping root-stocks, decorative leaves and flowers. Outdoors in tropical or subtropical areas where winters are mild,  they grow best in humid, shady conditions and moist, fertile soils. Indoors, provide bright indirect light, regular water and fertilize with an organic or slow release type that is formulated for blooming houseplants. They are mildly poisonous if eaten, and their sap can be a skin irritant.
