Evergreen trees and shrubs with oppositely arranged leaves that become alternately arranged as plants mature, and clusters of petal-less flowers with tufts of usually white, yellow orange, pink or red stamens. Eucalypts do best in sun and moist, fertile non-alkaline soils, in areas with mild or warm winter conditions. Many species have aromatic, blue-green leaves. To identify Eucalytus, flowering branches are needed.
